Presentation Description

Everyone knows that security is important, but getting started on the road to compliance often can be confusing and intimidating. We all want “best-practice” security, but what are the best organizations doing? Attend this session to learn details about how to develop the 7 habits that are part of daily life for secure organizations. You’ll learn how to: · Break the Ostrich Syndrome · Develop A Security Policy · Assess Current Standing · Perform Event Logging and Notification · Utilize Best-of-Breed Technologies · Monitor for Ongoing Compliance · Plan For The Future This session will examine what each of these habits means to IBM i, and how to make sure you don’t become the next statistic.

Robin Tatam
PowerTech

Presentation Description

Although your IBM i server is one of the most securable platforms available, the protection of critical data is often undermined by weak security design at the application level. This session will cover the main considerations that a programmer should be aware of as they design their applications: · Object ownership · Adopted authority · Public and private authorities · Command line permission · Client-server considerations Our discussion will include why auditors are often deemed to be a programmer’s nemesis, and what it is that they really need from us.
