Larry Bolhuis
IBM i Infrastructure Advisor at Service Express
Larry has been deeply involved with IBM systems since 1982, working with early midrange equipment like the S/34, S/36, and the AS/400 from its inception in 1988. His career has encompassed development, communications, networking, and a shift toward hardware and systems management. As an IBM Business Partner for over 15 years, he managed system design, implementation, and migration, working with everything from small to large systems. Larry has over 30 IBM certifications, including IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert, and has contributed to IBM certification tests. As a frequent speaker at user groups, Larry has won numerous awards for covering topics like system design, networking, PTFs, and Hardware Management Console. He’s volunteered with COMMON since 1988, receiving the Distinguished Service Award, and has been recognized as an IBM Champion since 2019. Larry currently serves as an IBM i Infrastructure Advisor for Service Express.
