Join us for an in-depth learning experience with Steve Riedmueller, a seasoned expert in IBM i system administration. This event features two sessions designed to equip system administrators with practical SQL skills to solve real-world problems and enhance system management.
The introductory session, "Intro to IBM i Services (SQL) for Admins," is perfect for traditional "green screen" administrators who want to start leveraging SQL. It covers how to use the “Run SQL Scripts” tool to investigate active, queued, and completed jobs, retrieve system networking information, investigate object locks, and more. Don’t be intimidated by SQL; it’s a powerful tool that you can easily start using with the examples provided.
The advanced session, "Advanced IBM i Services (SQL) for Admins," builds on the introductory session and dives deeper into the capabilities of IBM i Services. You’ll learn how to join data from multiple IBM i Services to create "SuperTools," use the QCMDEXC() scalar function, and create your own User Defined Functions (UDFs). This session is ideal for administrators with some SQL experience who want to take their skills to the next level.
